For those who already read it, I know that if you are here it’s because you are tired of battling hormonal acne that just won’t seem to go away, right? Trust me, I’ve been there. Hormonal acne can be frustrating and downright stubborn, but with the right skincare routine, you can finally bid those pesky pimples goodbye.

As you will see, it seems like a normal skincare routine but it had some particularities such as main ingredients that focus on killing acne-causing bacteria and reducing inflammation, combined with some other ingredients that are used to reduce dark spots and keep skin healthy (which means looking better ya?).

With that said, you need to know other extra tips that I’ll add to the end of the list.

No more talking, let’s dive into it!

Here are seven powerhouse products that have transformed my skin and helped me conquer hormonal acne once and for all:

Day routine is divided basically in two parts, cleansing and protecting.
For my hormonal acne I needed to make sure I was putting the right products on my face. Apart from the ones listed here, I also avoided wearing makeup (I knooow, it’s really hard to do this if you got acne all over you face) but believe me, doing this might help to accelerate your process as makeup can clog pores.

1.CLEANSER. Girl, you gotta get your face as clean as never before! Especially if you have an oily skin. For that I used two products and will write on detail on each.

Face Wash: PanOxyl 10% Benzoyl Peroxide

Say hello to clearer skin with PanOxyl 10% Benzoyl Peroxide Face Wash. This Not So gentle yet effective cleanser penetrates deep into the pores to kill acne-causing bacteria and reduce inflammation. Its powerful formula helps to unclog pores and prevent future breakouts.
I started using it every other day to wash my face in the morning so my skin would get use to it. After a couple of weeks changed to daily wash.

2. VITAMIN C SERUM. Now, I know some people just don’t like using Vitamin C serums for the fact that it doesn’t get fully absorbed by the skin because of the quick oxidation but let me tell you, It was a game change for me as with it I could treat the second worst part about acne-the scars and dark spots.

Serum: RoC Vitamin C 10%

Brighten and even out your skin tone with RoC Vitamin C 10% Serum. Packed with antioxidants, this potent serum helps to defend against environmental stressors and promote collagen production, reducing the appearance of acne scars and hyperpigmentation. With regular use, you’ll notice a smoother, more radiant complexion that’s resistant to future breakouts.

3. PROTECTION. That might be the MOST IMPORTANT part of any skin care routine. Doesn’t matter how clean is your face, if you don’t wear sunscreen, it will be damaged one way or another, you will be older before you actually age.

La Roche-Posay Anthelios Mineral Ultra-Light Face Sunscreen SPF 50

For anyone seeking superior sun protection without the greasy feel. As someone with tendency to acne, I appreciate its oil-free formula and 100% mineral sunblock, making it gentle yet effective. It absorbs quickly, leaving no white cast, and provides reliable daily defense against harmful UV rays. This sunscreen has become a staple in my skincare routine, ensuring my skin stays healthy.

Eau Thermale Avene Cleanance Comedomed

Add this serum into your skincare routine for added benefits targeting stubborn acne and prevents new breakouts from forming.
Its texture is very light and I always put it over one of the night serums everyday to prevent new acne from appearing as it can happen very easily if I eat too much sugar or Gluten.

Okay, Let’s say the basic is already been done by all the products you saw above.
Now, what else can you do to get better results on the long way for a lasting healthy skin?

  • Sugary food is one of the worst enemies for healthy skin (and body btw).
When you eat that piece of chocolate and there’s a new little friend on your face the next day, is not because of the chocolate per si, is the sugar in it!
  • Gluten is not a bad guy for everyone but it can be damaging your skin or even your health and you just haven’t made the connection yet. I say this because it is what happened to me, whenever I eat too much stuff that has Gluten in it I get new pimples, if it’s a donut then.. the damage it’s done.

  • Face towels are the worst things to dry your face with, even if you use one a day, they accumulate dirt and bacterias that goes straight into those acne pores and just mess it up even more. Use paper towels instead, every time you wash your face just dry it with a paper towel and bin it. Not so environment friendly but for sure very ‘stopping the acne friendly’.

  • Makeup as mentioned before, can clog your pores which is not ideal for the ones who need clean and unclogged pores so make sure to use it only when there’s really not other way.

  • Consistency, acceptance and patience – That’s what else will be needed from you to fully get rid of hormonal acne. Some people might need medication or dermatological consultation but FOR ME, the skincare above was what truly made a difference so I suggest you try it.

I really hope this information is helpful to you as well and you can start to shine and be confident again 💖✨
